Two More Days

Pottery Barn Antics
8.05.08 – 41/365 – “Pottery Barn Antics”

My beau and I went for dinner at our favorite hibachi place only to find we were there during their self proclaimed ciesta, so we walked over to Pottery Barn to kill some time. This pointless little reflective ball was on sale for some absurd amount of money. It had a nifty little hole in it that happened to be the exact size of my lens. Tricky. Other Pottery Barn antics which eventually got us the “Can we HELP YOU?” (translation “Can you leave, please?”) can be seen here.

My Friend
8.4.08 – 40/365 – “My Friend”

I come home everyday completely exhausted, physically, yet totally excited to keep my brain activated. My little friend here helps me with that. Lately the shows that begin my daily couch-vegetation process are X-Files and Jon and Kate Plus 8.

Color Me Trendy – 22/365

Dress Code
So my job called for a rehaul of the dress code policy. Out with the black-and-white and in with super trendy and color out the wazoo. Unfortunately I have zero dollars to put towards this transmogrification (yes, this is a word and yes, I am really excited to use it correctly). So, after combing the desert of my closet I found a few pieces that I’m hoping are able to be pulled together by this uber-trendy chunky, silver, waist-cinching belt care of Target. Another timer shot from the dresser (this is not a vanity shot, it’s a record of my supremely dorky efforts at being cool).

Elroys – 21/365

Every Wednesday night I have rehearsal for a cover band I play in called "The Elroys". It’s new for me as of this summer and is quite an experience. We do mainly classic rock and blues and have a daschund named Buster as our mascot (he likes to sit in Casey’s bass drum during rehearsals). This is a shot during one our tunes using timer. That’s me on keyboard and vocals, Robert on bass, Robert S. on mandolin, Scott on guitar, and Casey on drums (they’re not all pictured here). I’ll miss singing in this group when I leave Jax.

Sick of Being Sickly – 8/365

Sick of Being Sickly
So I didn’t post this yesterday because I had a really awful day. It started off fine: woke up, sang in shower, drove to work, showed up on time, and then….it hit me like a brick in the face. Half and hour into my first client I felt SUPER sick.

I’m a big fan of psyching myself out of being sick, continually using a convincing argument of "I can make it till 3:30pm (okay, only 1 more hour)", "okay, that was alright, I can definitely make it till 5:30pm (then I get to go home!)." This works fine when all goes according to plan.

However, due to new rules and procedures/training I ended staying almost 3 hours later than anticipated and it SUCKED the big one. I almost puked IN MY CAR on the way home.

Needless to say, I wasn’t feeling up to uploading anything at all. So me and my canker sore climbed into bed and fell asleep to "The Sound of Music" in the background (happy Austrians always make me feel better when I’m sick).

Hopefully today (my day off and FOURTH OF JULY!) will be a much better day!
